Biography

The Philosophy Chair exists to challenge assumptions that have become invisible through routine observation.

Unlike other departments, the Chair is not expected to produce consensus.

Each appointment studies the World through a different philosophical tradition.

Previous appointments include Diogenes, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Jacques Derrida, Nagarjuna, Emil Cioran and Georges Bataille.

Their reports frequently contradict one another.

The Institute has never regarded this as problematic.

Selected Publications

Changes with each appointment.

Institute Note

No philosopher has ever agreed with their predecessor.
